WHAT WE DO

The NC Tech Connection (NCTC) supports, connects, and showcases the tech ecosystem in Nevada County. We host tech-related events, education, training, coaching, networking, and mentoring opportunities for our region’s tech community.

We connect with digital tech and tech manufacturing, high-wage and high-growth industries that provide local and remote jobs to our regional workforce. Our tech services and resources also support other industries through collaborations and initiatives.

A strong, diverse, thriving, and connected tech community is the key to economic growth in our area.

OUR INITIATIVES

Nevada County Tech Connection supports and connects initiatives that develop, retain, and attract tech talent and businesses to Nevada County:

Talent

The Talent Development Task Force builds the local tech talent pipeline by facilitating classroom presentations, job shadowing, internships, and events that promote the tech career pathways.

Community

The Community Development Team hosts monthly Nevada County Online Meetups and TechTonic Tuesday events, and special events like AgTech that promote technology and partnership in our area.

Education

The Education Team facilitates informal and structured tech education for our community. NCTC hosts educational meetups and events including the VR/XR MeetUp, NC Web Development MeetUp, and Global Game Jam.

Advocacy

The Advocacy Team ensures that the voice of community tech businesses and industries are heard. We support efforts that promote a successful tech business climate.

WHO WE ARE

Nevada County Tech Connection (NCTech) is an initiative of the Nevada County Economic Resource Council (NCERC). We receive support and guidance from the Northern Rural Employment and Training Consortium (NoRTEC). NCTech follows the “Next Generation Sector Partnership” model illustrated in the above video. We are an industry-led, community-supported collaborative.

A strong, diverse, thriving and connected tech community is the key to economic growth in our county. Since NCTech launched in 2017, our partners and champions have been providing support and generating enthusiasm for the tech community.
