TechTonic Tuesday TV – Remote Working Panel

Working from home already? Interested in working for a company but don’t want to relocate from beautiful Nevada County? Come learn how to work remotely successfully with our panel featuring Robert Trent of Sierra Commons and Ken Kugler, remote worker of many years. They will share tips, tricks and methods to maintain productivity and community. This will be another TechTonic TV, so watch at your leisure on our YouTube channel, ask questions for our panel during the livestream, or forward issues you’d like addressed to the Tech Connection ahead of time and our moderator will ask the panel for you!

Speakers include

Robert X Trent – Executive Director Sierra Commons

Robert has been consulting with Nevada County businesses for twenty years. His for-profit marketing communication company Velocity7 assisted local “mom and pop” businesses, corporations, government organizations, and NGO’s with planning, outreach, marketing, and public relations. As the founder and Executive Director of Sierra Commons, Robert has consulted with and taught hundreds of entrepreneurs – helping them plan, launch, grow, and sell their businesses. Robert was also Executive Director of the Nevada County Economic Resource Council, Development Director for an agricultural non-profit, and has launched several small businesses. With a broad understanding of what it takes for businesses to survive and thrive, Robert brings his expertise to SBDC clients who are inspired to take their businesses to the next level.

Ken Kugler

Ken is the founder of Scale Unlimited, a provider of consulting and training services for big data analytics, search, and web mining. Previously he was the founder and CTO of Krugle, a VC-backed vertical search engine and enterprise appliance for code and technical information. Before that he founded TransPac Software, a pioneer in Far East computing & internationalization. He’s spent the last 20 years running these companies remotely from Nevada City, while raising a family, being an active community member, and enjoying life in a small town.

Danielle Johnson

Danielle, a Software Engineer and certified Gyrokinesis Instructor with a B.S. in Computer Engineering and a B.A. in Dance, has traversed the gentle balance of technology and the arts for as long as she can remember. With her ability to solve problems, she takes on many life’s problems with a willing attitude. Whether it be an issue at work or in life, she finds a way to apply her analytical skills in creative ways. In her free time she relaxes with her 3 cats and husband while writing books.
