Connie Gallippi is the Founder and Executive Director of the BitGive Foundation, the first government-recognized Bitcoin and Blockchain nonprofit, founded in 2013. BitGive is focused on leveraging revolutionary technology via practical applications for public health and environmental causes worldwide. BitGive has built partnerships and raised funds with well-known nonprofits, including Save the Children, The Water Project, TECHO, and Medic Mobile. in 2015, BitGive announced its Charity 2.0 Initiative, which includes a variety of projects aimed at leveraging Bitcoin and Blockchain technology to benefit charitable organizations worldwide. Their flagship project is GiveTrack, leveraging the Bitcoin blockchain for tracking contributions and engaging donors in project results on the ground in real time.
BitGive has been featured in Forbes, Entrepreneur, Wall Street Journal, US News and World Report, Non Profit Times, Inside Philanthropy, and more. Ms. Gallippi has also presented at conferences all over the US and internationally. She is also one of 70 leaders in tech and social good identified as a UN70 Digital Leader for the United Nations Charter 70th Anniversary. Connie is a well-known industry spokesperson for the social impact of Bitcoin and advocating for more diversity and equal opportunity in the digital currency community.
Prior to founding BitGive, Connie worked with environmental nonprofits across California for 15 years, specializing in consulting, strategy development, policy and advocacy, funding assistance, and program management. Most notably, her work included the development and implementation of multi-million dollar programs in public funding for the environmental sector. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Sierra Business Council and Tahoe Silicon Mountain.
TechTonic Tuesday is a community event, where all are welcome including children who can take care of themselves. We offer pizza and drinks. The event is free, with a suggested donation of $5-15 for those who would like to contribute and help make these events thrive.
