David Clark Carroll of the Tech Connection does a deep dive on how connected the local video production community is, starting with Conrad Sisk talking about Telestream’s donation of their Wirecast system to the Center for the Arts for their live stream series. In a segment with Scott Murray of Telestream we look at how Wirecast is used around the world by everyone from the New York Yankees, Boris Johnson (U.K. prime minister) and even mega churches right here in California. Moving on we talk to Ramona Howard about how Nevada County Media is an avid user of both Wirecast as well as AJA Video Systems, another high profile local manufacturer and developer of cutting edge tech. All of this is partly due to the enduring legacy of the Grass Valley Group, a pioneer in video production that made Nevada County the Silicon Valley of video before there even was a Silicon Valley.
